The IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Society is the world's largest organization dedicated to the development and distribution of information, tools and techniques for reducing electromagnetic interference. The society's field of interest includes standards, measurement techniques and test procedures, instrumentation, equipment and systems characteristics, interference control techniques and components, education, computational analysis, and spectrum management, along with scientific, technical, industrial, professional or other activities that contribute to this field.

Board of Directors Election: Call for Nominations
Candidate nominations are now being accepted for the 2013 IEEE Annual Elections ballot for Director-at-Large positions on the IEEE EMC Society Board of Directors (BoD) for a three year term, beginning January 1, 2014. To be eligible for consideration as a candidate by the N&A Committee, a nomination supported by signatures of at least fifteen (15) EMC Society higher-grade members in good standing, excluding the candidate, must be submitted, accompanied by a BoD Candidate Nomination Form Candidates who plan to run should contact the N&A Committee Chair. Nominees should possess professional stature and significant technical skills in electromagnetic compatibility. They must have adequate financial support outside the Society and have the approval of their organizations or employers to actively participate in the Board meetings and contribute to its activities.
The IEEE EMC Society is a member society of the IEEE Technology Management Council. More information about this council can be found on their web page.
Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD)
You are automatically enrolled in GOLD EMC if you have received your bachelor within the last 10 years. GOLD is a transition place for young professionals and new graduates. Employment searches, new jobs, professional growth, career development, and life status changes are common experiences for many. Going through these challenges can be daunting but IEEE members never have to go through these experiences alone or uninformed. The GOLD mission is to inspire, energize, empower, and engage young professionals to envision and realize their dreams.

EMC Founders War Stories
At the 2007 IEEE EMC Symposium in Honolulu, several founders of the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Society gave their recollections of the founding and the early days of the EMC Sociey. - EMC-S members have electronic access to EMC Transaction and Proceedings papers that can be downloaded (limit of 500 per year) at no additional cost to members through IEEE Xplore.
- The 50th Anniversary Committee prepared a video celebrating the first 50 years of our society and historical events that have influenced the field of electromagnetic compatibility.

EMCS member interviews now available online
Interviews of several esteemed veteran members of the EMC Society conducted by the IEEE History Center as part of its series of oral histories are available online. These include interviews with Warren Kesselman, Leonard Thomas, Sr., Chet Smith and others. Also, check out the IEEE Virtual Museum. - IEEE/EMC Transactions can now be read online through the IEEE Xplore® system. They can be accessed by clicking the Xplore® EMC Transactions link in the left navigation bar. On the Xplore® page, select “What Can I Access? under the “Welcome to IEEE Xplore” option. You must have an IEEE web account to enter a username and password in order to access to the EMC Transactions.
